Anti-Corruption Commission has launched their media policy

Anti-Corruption Commission has launched their media policy. This policy was launched by Information Commissioner, Abdull Azeez Jamal Abubakru in the ceremony held on 24th August, at Islamic University Hall. The ceremony was also held to relaunch the website of ACC and to share information about National Integrity Plan with the media.
Speaking in the ceremony, the Information Commissioner said that despite having websites at government institutions, little is being done to update information about the work carried out by the institutions. He also highlighted that in an era of technological advancement, the public needs to be well informed and latest information should be easily accessible. Thus, he advised all institutions to comply provisions of the Right to Information (RTI) Act (Law Number: 01/2014) and enforce it fully. Furthermore, he also complimented and acknowledged the work carried out by President and staff of ACC to implement the RTI act. He called upon all other institutions to follow the example set by ACC.
ACC media policy is designed to deliver, and publicize information about ACC. Commission believes that due to this policy ACC will become more transparent and the media will find it easy to get access to information from the commission. Apart from the information Commissioner, Auditor general and Prosecutor General, members of several independent Commissions and media representatives were present at today’s ceremony.
