Commencement of Anti-Corruption awareness program at GA. Atoll

The ACC has commenced an anti-corruption awareness program at GA. Atoll with the aim of promoting anti-corruption awareness and fostering integrity in the society. This awareness program will be conducted in six islands of GA. Atoll from 11-17 September 2015. The programe is targeted to public officials including general public at the islands of Vilingili, Kolamafushi, Mamendhoo, Gemanafushi, Dhandhoo and Nilandhoo.
This program covers a full day workshop for the public officials from the State institutions, which includes training modules on integrity, anti-corruption and procurement related areas. Furthermore, information will be provided about the Anti-Corruption Commission’s Act, corruption prevention methods, integrity in public service delivery, basic principles and procedures to eliminate corruption in procurement of goods and services will be taught in the program.
Finally, it is supplemented by organizing an ‘Integrity Family Evening’ in order to promote anti-corruption awareness and foster integrity among the islanders. The purpose of this event is to increase anti-corruption sensitization through public outreach through activities such as integrity quizzes and children’s games along with dissemination of anti-corruption related information and awareness materials.
