The following statistics represents the first six months of 2014 and 2015.The number of cases concluded by the Commission in the first six months of 2015 was 389 cases while 348 were concluded in the same period in 2014. This indicates a 12% increase in the number of cases concluded during the period under review. The cases concluded are divided into three broad categories.
From the cases registered at the commission, some cases are dismissed due to insufficient evidence and information. Likewise, 329 cases were dismissed in 2015 while 292 cases were dismissed in the year 2014 respectively.
Based on the cases concluded, 12 cases were sent to the Prosecutor General’s Office (PGO) in the first six months of 2015 while 15 cases were sent to the PGO in the year 2014 respectively.
Furthermore, concerning the administrative issues of the institutions, 125 recommendations were given in 2015 while this number stands at 84 in the year 2014.
