Anti-Corruption Commission submits [Regulation on the protection of whistleblowers] to the Attorney General’s Office

The Anti-Corruption Commission has submitted the draft Regulation on the protection of whistleblowers to the Attorney General’s Office.
The regulation was drafted by the Commission and encompasses the basic requirements of whistleblowing, procedures for whistleblowing, and the protection and other incentives provided to whistleblowers in relation to offences of corruption.
The main purpose of drafting such a regulation is to provide for a framework that would encourage accurate and timely submission of information in relation to allegations of corruption and protect whistleblowers from any harm that they may be subject to due to whistleblowing.
Once the ACC receives legal opinion from the Attorney General’s Office the draft will be sent to be published on the Government Gazette.
