A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) has been signed today (24th August 2016) between Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) and Maldives National University (MNU). The aim of this MOU is to conduct the course, “Certificate 3 in Public Procurement and Financial Regulation”, through collaborations between ACC and MNU’s Business School.
Chairman of ACC Mr. Hassan Luthfee and MNU Business School’s Dean Mr. Shathif Ali signed the MOU on behalf of their respective institutions. The course is developed specially for public officials involved in procurement and for those interested in the field. MNU will be administering the course while all the technical work needed for the development of the modules will be carried out by ACC.
Speaking at the Ceremony Chairman Mr. Hassan Luthfee said most corruption allegations received by ACC involves public procurement and the course will help decrease the number of procurement related corruption cases. He also highlighted that Maldives has the necessary resources to conduct such a course at the same quality as other international agencies. Dean Mr. Shathif Ali delivered a statement on behalf of MNU. He highlighted that MNU is pleased to join ACC’s efforts to combat corruption and that the course will help develop public officials who will work with integrity.
