ACC implements Procedure on Protection of Whistleblowers for Offences of Corruption

The Anti-Corruption Commission has started implementing its procedure on protection of whistleblowers for offences of corruption. The procedure came into effect upon its publication on the Anti-Corruption Commission’s website on 13th October 2016.

The procedure contains instructions for whistleblowing to the Commission, the type of protection provided to the whistleblowers, and the procedures adopted by the Commission to ensure their protection. Protection under the procedure is provided for persons reporting offences of corruption along with their own identification to the Commission.

Under the procedure, ACC will take measures to ensure that the whistleblowers are provided protection of their personal information, protection from abuse of employee rights, protection from physical retaliation and protection from any human rights abuse that they may be subjected to due to whistleblowing.
