ACC Participated in the 7th Session of the Implementation Review Group of UNCAC

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has participated in the 7th Session of the Implementation Review Group of the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC), organized by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). The Session was held in Vienna, Austria from 14th to 16th November 2016 and ACC was represented in the Session by the Chairman of the Commission, Mr. Muaviz Rasheed and Commission Member, Mr. Sofwath Mohamed.

The Implementation Review Group is an inter-governmental group of State parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC) established to ensure effective implementation of the Convention. The main objective of the Session was to provide an overview of the review process done by the Group, identify challenges faced by member states in preventing corruption, and discuss about strategies and good practices of ant-corruption. The participants of the Session were also provided with a briefing on the projects carried out to implement the Convention and targets set to achieve effective implementation of the Convention in the future.
