The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) held a meeting with Mr. Wayne Jordash QC, the international consultant who designed the rollout plan for the new Criminal Procedure Code, on 1st November 2016 at the Commission. In his visit, Mr. Jordash met with the Commission Members and technical staff of ACC. The rollout plan was created as a preliminary implementation step of the Criminal Procedure Code to help relevant institutions get familiar with the contents of the legislation, and to create awareness among the public regarding the Criminal Procedure Code.
In the meeting, the ACC raised some concerns about the challenges that could arise once the Criminal Procedure Code comes into force and discussed steps that need to be taken to ensure proper execution and implementation of the laws in the Criminal Procedure Code.
