According to the statistics of 2016, the highest number of cases registered in the Commission are procurement related, similar to the previous year. There was a total of 320 procurement related cases registered at the Commission during the year. Nevertheless, this is an increase of 11.5% compared to the cases registered during 2015.
The second highest category of the cases registered are on employment related issues such as providing undue advantage in employment process, misuse of position and authority in staff promotions and staff dismissal. Likewise, a total of 105 cases were registered in 2016 while it was 156 cases during the 2015.
Moreover, 141 cases were registered regarding land related and island/land leasing issues in 2016. In terms of ‘other’ category, 354 cases were registered during the year.
