Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has concluded a total of 299 cases in the first quarter of 2017.
During the same period in 2016, a total of 213 cases were concluded respectively. This indicates a 40% increase in the number of cases concluded in the first quarter of 2017.
From the cases concluded, 3 cases were sent to the Prosecutor General’s Office (PGO) in the first quarter of 2017 while 2 cases were sent to the PGO in the year 2016 respectively.
Based on the cases registered at the commission, some cases are dismissed due to insufficient evidence and information. Likewise, a sum of 121 cases that were concluded after the evaluation process of preliminary stage and 175 cases concluded after investigation process were dismissed. Comparatively, in 2016 a total of 211 cases were dismissed respectively.
Furthermore, regarding 37 cases concluded during the first quarter of 2017 recommendations were given concerning the administrative issues of the institutions, while this number stands at 41 in the year 2016.
