ACC has requested to halt the process of authorising private companies to send pilgrims to Hajj for 1438, regarding a case currently being investigated by the Commission

The Anti-Corruption Commission has started investigating serious allegations received to the Commission regarding authorisation of private companies by Ministry of Islamic Affairs, to send pilgrims to Hajj for the hijri year 1438.

Today (on 21st May 2017), the Commission has also requested the Ministry of Islamic Affairs to halt all due processes of issuing authorisation to private companies to send pilgrims for Hajj, until further notice is given by the Commission.

There have also been allegations that private companies have been accepting payment from individuals requesting to perform Hajj this year, after the Ministry of Islamic Affairs announced the selected companies.

However, as the selected companies have not yet received official permission and have not yet signed any agreements with the Ministry of Islamic Affairs to send pilgrims to Hajj, commission requests the companies not to accept payment from individuals and also requests the public not to make payments to the companies.

Commission is investigating the case as a serious issue and will disclose the conclusions, as soon as the investigation is completed.
