The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICOM) made the statement during a presentation at the National Anti-Corruption Conference. ICOM’s presentation was focused on the importance of disseminating information to the public to promote transparency and accountability of government offices. The presentation also highlighted on issues faced in circulating information and discussed ways to resolve those issues.
In addition, ICOM’s presentation defined news and information and distinguished between the two categories, while stressing on the importance of accessing true information.
