“Trustworthy people should be appointed to posts”- Chancellor of IUM

 

“Responsibilities should be entrusted with people who are trustworthy and such people should be appointed to posts”, said Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed, the Chancellor of the Islamic University of the Maldives (IUM).

The Chancellor of IUM stated as such during the inaugural ceremony of the National Anti-Corruption Conference, held at the University.

The Conference is a joint effort by ACC and IUM with the aim to provide the opportunity to open discussions with relevant law enforcement authorities and public institutions to identify challenges that arise in preventing corruption and to discuss ways to eliminate them.

Speaking on behalf of IUM in the opening ceremony, the Chancellor stressed on the importance of following Islamic morals and principles to foster integrity in the society, and maintaining state funds and properties honourably without deceit, as emphasized in Islam.
