Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has participated in the “International Conference on Islamic Awakening (ICIA2017) Towards Sustainable and Resilient Growth of Islamic Finance Industry through Innovation, Leadership and Management” which was organized by the Islamic University of Maldives (IUM). The conference was held at IUM, from 23-24 September 2017. ACC delivered its paper on the topic “Hajj Management Systems”.
The objective of the research paper of the Commission was to identify the obstacles faced in planning and organizing Hajj arrangements, and to find solutions to these problems by ensuring that the arrangements are trustworthy and transparent. The paper highlighted the role of Hajj Corporation in tackling the problems faced in the process, in protecting the funds of the public and in providing a quality product at a reasonable rate. The paper also proposed recommendations that the Maldives Hajj system be organized according to the successful models implemented by other Muslim countries like Malaysia.
