Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has concluded a total of 265 cases in the third quarter of 2017.
ACC’s statistical data revealed that within the first nine months of 2017, the commission has concluded a total 815 cases. Amongst these cases, 265 cases were completed in the third quarter of 2017. During the same period in 2016, a total of 168 cases were concluded respectively. This indicates a 57.74% increase in the number of cases concluded in the third quarter of 2017.
From the total cases concluded, 7 case were concluded to send to the Prosecutor General’s Office (PGO) in the third quarter of 2017, while this number stood at 2 in the year 2016 respectively.
Based on the cases registered at the commission, some cases are dismissed due to insufficient evidence and information. Likewise, a total of 258 cases were dismissed whereas, in 2016 a total of 166 cases were dismissed respectively.
Furthermore, during the third quarter of 2017, 82 recommendations were provided to 64 government institutions, while in the same period of 2016, the number of recommendations provided to government institutions stood at 70.
