Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has concluded a total of 511 cases in the fourth quarter of 2017.
During the same period in 2016, a total of 258 cases were concluded respectively. This indicates a 98% increase in the number of cases concluded in the fourth quarter of 2017.
From the total cases concluded, 2 case were concluded to send to the Prosecutor General’s Office (PGO) in the fourth quarter of 2017, while this number stood at 7 in the year 2016 respectively.
Based on the cases registered at the commission, some cases are concluded as no corruption element involved due to insufficient evidence and information. Likewise, during the fourth quarter of 2017, a total of 509 cases were concluded as such whereas, in 2016 this number stood at 251 respectively.
Furthermore, during the fourth quarter of 2017, 108 recommendations were provided to 71 government institutions, while in the same period of 2016, the number of recommendations provided to government institutions stood at 111.
