The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has participated in the Civil Service Conference 2018, which was held from 14th to 15th April 2018 at Dharubaaruge.
The main objective of the Conference which was themed, “Reforming and Modernizing Civil Service”, was to strengthen the governance of the civil service and to find innovative ways to modernize and reform the civil service systems and its operations, through research and discussions.
The ACC, presented its paper titled, “Administrative negligence in Recruitment and Corruption Risks” on the first day of the conference. The paper was based on findings from cases investigated by the Commission regarding recruitment, and discussed how administrative negligence led to corruption risks. The paper also, highlighted recommendations on how to strengthen the recruitment system of the Maldives Civil Service, in a way that does not involve the risk of corruption. The paper was authored by Senior Research Officer Ms. Ikleela Ismail and Assistant Research Officer, Ms. Aishath Manaal Khalid and was presented by the latter at the conference.
