The Anti-Corruption Commission has commenced a training program on Law no: 9/2014 (the Penal Code of the Maldives) and Law no: 12/2016 (Criminal Procedure Act). The 6 days training program was aimed for the technical staff involved in the application of the Acts.
Information was provided on the evaluation of and conclusion of cases in accordance with the requirements of the Penal Code and participants were instructed on the procedures that must be followed during investigation. Further, staff were trained on criminal investigations, pressing charges and court procedures for such crimes under the Criminal Procedure Act.
In addition to the staff of ACC, 2 staff from Information commissioner’s office attended the training programme and the training was conducted by a team of trained ACC staff.
