Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has concluded a total of 286 cases in the second quarter of 2018.
ACC’s statistical data revealed that within the first six months of 2018, the commission has concluded a total 774 cases. Amongst these cases, 486 cases were concluded in the second quarter of 2018. During the same period in 2017, a total of 251 cases were concluded respectively. This indicates a 93.60% increase in the number of cases concluded in the second quarter of 2018.
From the total cases concluded, 2 case was concluded to send to the Prosecutor General’s Office (PGO) in the second quarter of 2018, while this number stand at 1 in the year 2017 respectively.
Based on the cases registered at the commission, some cases are dismissed due to insufficient evidence and information. Likewise, a total of 484 cases were dismissed whereas, in 2017 a total of 250 cases were dismissed respectively.
Furthermore, during the second quarter of 2018, 86 recommendations were provided to 47 government institutions, while in the same period of 2017, the number of recommendations provided to government institutions stood at 65.
