ACC concluded 320 cases in the third quarter of 2018

Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has concluded a total of 320 cases in the third quarter of 2018.

ACC’s statistical data revealed that within the first nine months of 2018, the commission has concluded a total 1094 cases. Amongst these cases, 320 cases were completed in the third quarter of 2018. During the same period in 2017, a total of 168 cases were concluded respectively. This indicates a 23.26% increase in the number of cases concluded in the third quarter of 2018.

From the total cases concluded, 2 case were concluded to send to the Prosecutor General’s Office (PGO) in the third quarter of 2018, while this number stood at 7 in the year 2017 respectively.

Additionally, 318 cases were dismissed in the third quarter of 2018 due to insufficient evidence and information whereas, in 2017 a total of 258 cases were dismissed respectively.

Furthermore, during the third quarter of 2018, 59 recommendations were provided to 44 government institutions, while in the same period of 2017, the number of recommendations provided to government institutions stood at 82.
