Anti-corruption Commission’s statistical data revealed that during the first three quarters of 2018, the commission has informed relevant government institutions to recover more than two billion Rufiyaa to the state.
During the first nine months of 2018, total amount to be recovered by the state stood at 2,024,638,893.74 (Two billion Twenty-four million Six hundred and thirty-eight thousand Eight hundred and ninety-three Rufiyaa Seventy-four Laari). Amongst, 2,216,178.00 (Two million Two hundred and sixteen thousand One hundred and seventy-eight) Rufiyaa is the amount claimed to be recovered by the state during the third quarter of 2018. This monetary value is the financial loss comprised in 05 cases investigated and concluded by the commission during the third quarter of 2018.
Likewise, the above mentioned two billion is the financial loss comprised in 27 cases investigated and concluded by the commission during the first nine months of 2018 including 4 cases being forwarded for prosecution. Wherein, 1,807,749,100.00 (One billion eight hundred and seven million seven hundred forty-nine thousand one hundred Rufiyaa) is the amount incurred in the cases forwarded for prosecution. Moreover, during the third quarter of 2018, total MVR 54,220.76 (Fifty-four thousand Two hundred and twenty Rufiyaa Seventy-six Laari) was recovered herein the amount to be recovered by the state.
