Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has concluded a total of 198 cases in the second quarter of 2019.
ACC’s statistical data revealed that within the first six months of 2019, the commission has concluded a total 355 cases. Amongst these cases, 198 cases were concluded in the second quarter of 2019. During the same period in 2018, a total of 486 cases were concluded respectively. This indicates a 59% decrease in the number of cases concluded in the second quarter of 2019.
From the total cases concluded, 1 case was concluded to send to the Prosecutor General’s Office (PGO) in the second quarter of 2019, while this number stood at 2 in the year 2018 respectively.
Based on the cases registered at the commission, some cases are dismissed due to insufficient evidence and information. Likewise, a total of 197 cases were dismissed during the second quarter of 2019, whereas, in 2018 a total of 484 cases were dismissed respectively.
Furthermore, during the second quarter of 2019, 61 recommendations were provided to 59 government institutions, while in the same period of 2018, the number of recommendations provided to government institutions stood at 86.
