Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has concluded a total of 177 cases in the third quarter of 2019.
ACC’s statistical data revealed that within the first nine months of 2019, the commission has concluded a total 532 cases. Amongst these cases, 177 cases were completed in the third quarter of 2019. During the same period in 2018, a total of 320 cases were concluded respectively. The comparison shows a 45% increase in the number of cases concluded in the third quarter of 2018.
From the total cases concluded, 1 case was concluded to send to the Prosecutor General’s Office (PGO) in the third quarter of 2019, while this number stood at 2 in the year 2018 respectively.
Additionally, 176 cases were dismissed in the third quarter of 2019 due to insufficient evidence and information whereas, in 2018 a total of 318 cases were dismissed respectively.
Furthermore, during the third quarter of 2019, 83 recommendations were provided to 59 government institutions, while in the same period of 2018, the number of recommendations provided to government institutions stood at 59.
