ACC has investigated an issue which addressed in Ministry of Fisheries and Agriculture\u2019s audit report 2010 (number: FIN-2012-02) claiming that MVR 2,946\/- worth of cash and a check of MVR 2,454\/- were found to be missing on 30 June 2011 and while the check was later found on 03 July 2011, the Ministry yet owes a justification on the MVR 2,946\/- missing from their safe. Similar complaint was lodged by individual, therefore both complaints were investigated as same case.
\n\tMinistry of Fisheries and Agriculture\u2019s audit report 2010, states that when auditors counted case in Ministry\u2019s safe on 30 June 2010, MVR 2,946 (Two Thousand Nine Hundred Forty-Six Ruffiyaa) was missing and till 7 July 2011 the ministry had not provided a justification regarding missing amount. ACC\u2019s investigation revealed that after auditors had counted the cash three employees from the Ministry\u2019s budget section had found the misplace cash and that information had been communicated with auditors. Although this information had been communicated, cash missed from the safe was reported in the audit report. ACC\u2019s investigation learned that audit report had compiled base on auditor\u2019s findings at the time when the auditors inspected there. Moreover, 8th point of the \u201cComments on the Ministry of Fisheries and Agriculture\u2019s audit report\u201d, states that missing cash addressed in the audit report were placed in the safe after it was found. Thereby, the investigation did not reveal any contravention with the Law number 2\/2000 (Prevention and Prohibition of Corruption Act), in this case. Hence, the case was concluded under section 25 (a) (1) of Law number 13\/2008 (Anti-Corruption Commission Act), as there was no offence of corruption in the case.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
