Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has concluded a total of 299 cases in the first quarter of 2017.<\/p>\n
During the same period in 2016, a total of 213 cases were concluded respectively. This indicates a 40% increase in the number of cases concluded in the first quarter of 2017.<\/p>\n
From the cases concluded, 3 cases were sent to the Prosecutor General\u2019s Office (PGO) in the first quarter of 2017 while 2 cases were sent to the PGO in the year 2016 respectively.<\/p>\n
Based on the cases registered at the commission, some cases are dismissed due to insufficient evidence and information. Likewise, a sum of 121 cases that were concluded after the evaluation process of preliminary stage and 175 cases concluded after investigation process were dismissed. Comparatively, in 2016 a total of 211 cases were dismissed respectively.<\/p>\n
