The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has urged government authorities to provide assistance to solve issues that the Commission faces in discharging its mandatory function of investigating corruption.<\/p>\n
ACC\u2019s call for assistance was made during the Commission\u2019s presentation at the National Anti-Corruption Conference. The presentation also discussed the challenges faced by the ACC in investigating corruption and suggested solutions that could help overcome those challenges.<\/p>\n
In the presentation, ACC listed some of the challenges to their investigations, which include unresponsiveness to search warrants by recipient government offices, difficulties in accessing documents even after going to their location, absence of a specific, legal definition of corruption in statutes, and illicit enrichment not being considered as a criminal offense.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
